ABOUT me
You and your soon-to-be spouse are pouring your hearts out to each other saying your vows, and your parents are snuggled together remembering when they said their own vows while marveling at their child doing the same. I snapped a photo of them.Your flower girls are off to the side getting ready for their debut but one of them has got both hands occupied in picking her nose. I caught it. You and your new spouse just slammed cake into each other’s faces and then shared a look only ya’ll understand while no one was paying attention, but I still got a shot of it.
When I was a young kid, my dad gave me my very first camera. It was a film camera (that I used all my allowance buying film for) from a pawn shop, but it awoke my passion!
From then on I wanted to take photos of EVERYTHING. While helping my mom run our church nursery, I started taking photos of the kids and slowly the parents started asking to hire me to take more. I loved it. How could I refuse?
I started daydreaming about taking photos of couples everywhere. Especially in nature, which is a huge inspiration to my eye and creativity.
When my husband and partner Kevin bought me my first professional-grade camera, there was no stopping me! I immediately started booking weddings and engagement shoots which has led to me shooting over 300 weddings in the last 12 years.
My passion for photography, nature, and capturing who someone is, isn’t my only asset!
Growing up in a family of six kids, and not to mention having six kids of my own (seven if you count Kevin), I’ve perfected how to thrive in mayhem while bringing a calming presence. Organizing chaos is like a superpower of mine!
I love getting to a wedding with all the uncertainties and capturing the day exactly as it unfolds. As a photographer, I have a unique position in your wedding to be able to witness and be aware of everything happening around me.
My favorite things to capture are what I call the “In-Between Moments”. The ones you’re not expecting. All the moments that are easily missed. And finding the ones that turn out to be so special like the three I mentioned at the beginning.
Having done this for so long, I know when to anticipate these moments. I’ve learned how to be aware of the background in all the chaos that a wedding day brings.
It’s my goal to always show exactly who you truly are through the photos I take. At the very core of a wedding, the Bride and Groom are coming together with their families and all the people that have made them who they are. It brings me joy to photograph your community.
I can capture your day exactly how it unfolds. The big, the little, and the in-between moments. Exactly how you, your family, and your loved ones are.
